Thoughts on Irish Law
Irish law is constantly evolving, and that is what makes it so engaging. Being a solicitor is about more than legal knowledge—it’s about applying that knowledge effectively and advocating for clients to achieve the best possible outcome.
Press & Media Features
Some of our most rewarding work has involved helping clients bring important legal questions before the Supreme Court. These cases have not only sought justice for the individuals involved but have also contributed to greater clarity and fairness in the law. They reflect who we are as a firm: ambitious in pursuing the best possible outcome, fearless in addressing complex issues, and unwavering in our commitment to putting clients at the centre of everything we do.
Why I Chose to Work in Law
From an early stage, I had a strong interest in how law influences everyday situations, particularly in problem‑solving and helping to bring clarity to complex issues. I was naturally drawn to the balance between analytical thinking and the practical side of finding solutions that make a real difference.
As I progressed, this developed into a clear career choice. I was keen to build a role where I could not only work through legal challenges, but also advise and support clients during key decisions and disputes that can have a lasting impact.
To this day, I continue to place a strong emphasis on refining these core skills. Whether it is through developing more effective ways to approach complex matters or improving how I guide clients through them, this foundation remains central to how I work.
This has ultimately shaped my approach within the firm, where combining technical expertise with clear, practical guidance allows us to support clients in a way that is both structured and genuinely impactful.
Cases we are proud of at Gibson & Associates LLP
I have had the privilege of acting for clients in complex catastrophic injury litigation, securing significant multi‑million euro settlements in cases that have a life‑changing impact. Alongside this, I have advised on evolving and sensitive legal matters, including data protection and citizenship entitlements for children of same‑sex couples born outside the jurisdiction, an area I find both challenging and rewarding as the law continues to develop.
