Why Attend?

Iinitial consultation with a specialist Medical Negligence Solicitor.

Opportunity to discuss your circumstances in confidence.

Clear guidance on your legal options.

What is a medical negligence clinic?

It’s an opportunity to receive trusted legal advice.

How long will my appointment be?

Appointments last around 30 minutes. This gives us time to understand the basics of your situation and give you an initial steer, though it may not be long enough to go into every detail — that’s what any follow-up meeting would be for.

Do I need to book in advance, or can I just walk in?

We recommend booking a slot in advance to avoid waiting, though walk-ins are welcome if space allows. Places are limited and must be booked in advance.

(Before you come) What should I bring with me?

Bring any documentation you would like to receive advice on.

Is there a time limit on making a claim?

Generally, yes — under the Statute of Limitations you usually have 2 years from the date of the negligence (or from your “date of knowledge” of it) to bring a claim. There are important exceptions, for example where the patient was a child at the time (time generally only starts running from their 18th birthday) or lacks capacity. Because this can be complicated, and because time limits are strictly enforced, it’s best to come and talk to us as soon as possible rather than assume you’re out of time.

Can someone attend with me or on my behalf?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend with you.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Anything you discuss with us is confidential.
